ABOUT

Giorgos Sioros was born in Athens, Greece in 1975. He studied Physics (PhD on bio-metallic compounds) and Classical Music (piano and music theory) and was involved in computer programming. As from 1993 he is creating computer based music in a variety of programming environments/languages often drifting into more conventional instrumental music. In the last couple of years he is trying to reproduce structures of sonic environments related to musical composition by combining random events coupled to musical patterns. The sonic objects he uses are elementary "particles" of sound computed from simple mathematical functions. These are organized by stochastic processes to form complex textures, environments and rhythms, exploring the boundaries between static and floating sounds. His work includes music for theatrical performances and video art projects.
